Orphaned at a young age in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Lamia Relictus never feels more than nonexistent. Lamia moves around and eventually finds herself alone, which gives her insight into the sad reality that was the rest of her life. Until she is nearly killed outside her apartment one November night over something called The Rising. Dropped into a world of untold monsters and a species called the Nephilim, Lamia is forced to reevaluate who she is as much as how insignificant she thought she was. With a cynical partner named Micah, Lamia embarks on a journey to figure out what The Rising is, as well as who she is. What she finds is beyond anything she could have imagined; darker, deeper, and deadlier. Will what she discovers change who she is in her heart?
